Visual: Memory for what you've seen. (ex: Remembering what someone looks like.)

Sequential: Memory for things in a certain order. (ex: Remembering the digits in a telephone number.)

Short-term: Recent memory.(ex:Remembering directions you just heard.)

Recognition: Memory for knowing that something familier. (ex: Remembering someone when you see them.)

Automatic: Memory that is so facts you don't have to think much to remember what you need. (ex: Remembering howto form letters while you write.)

Episodic: Memory for things that have happened in your life. (ex: Remembering the good time you had atthe beach you went swimming at last summer.)

Procedual: Memory for how to do things. (ex: Remembering how to do a multiplication problem.)

Motor: Memory for how to do things with your muscles. (ex: Remembering how to ride a bicycle.)

Factual: Memory for knowledge. (ex: Remembering the names of planets.)

Active Working: Memory for keeping things together in your mind while you need them. (ex: Remembering the directions for a report while you're writing.)
