Letter Writing with a Purpose
A useful and important type of letter writing is Transactional Writing.
TRANSECTIONAL WRITING is LETTER WRITING WITH A CLEAR PURPOSE.
This is a letter which is written to clearly state your point of view, your opinion on an issue or to address a concern about something.
This type of letter can be;
- A letter to the Editor of a newspaper or magazine
- A letter of complaint about a consumer product to the company which manufactures or sells the product
- Any letter written to state your views on something
- The opening sentence should vlearly state or name the issue or the reason you are writing the letter.
- Keep the letter short, clear and to-the-point: - ONE Paragraph is BEST.
- No more than two paragraphs-if absolutely neccessary.
- Give a few (2-3) clear reasons for your concern, or to clarify the issue that you have.
